Where can i download ISO when it will be released?

Well the rumour is it will be released in 2024. To get an official copy, you would be it from MS or its authorised resellers.

Office 365 will get automatically updated of course.

Dont fall for hype that some articles say that buying a licence for office 2024 is better than office 365.

For a single licence and no cloud space, sure buying it is almost certainly better provided you do not really think you will later upgrade to (say) office 2027.

Office 365 is a different beast as it can be active on 6pcs with 1TB onedrive space. For a small premium, you can have 6 users each with 1TB onedrive space.

It all comes down to your personal needs.

I actually need the multiple installation feature of MS 365 and I updated to 6 user licence and gave away some of the licences as an XMAS present which was well received

Of course, you will be able to buy cheap 2024 MS licences but they can be of questionable legality and could get banned eventually. Caveat Emptor applies.

I see no difference between Office 2021 and Office 2024, feature wise, function wise or cosmetically...,
with the exception of Publisher being missing.

IMO, folks get caught up in all the hype rather than considering his/her own needs and wants which should be the most important consideration.

example: A single user uses an unsupported version of Office. He does not want to sync all his files to Onedrive so would never use all the free onedrive space 365 offers. He doesn't collaborate with others with his files. He doesn't use Office Outlook. His use of Office is no more than to write a a few word documents or spreadsheets every once in a while. I can't see this person's motivation to change. Use the current Office as long as you can. Upgrade when you have to.

example: A single user is a heavy user of his current unsupported Office. He has friends/family who use other devices and would like to use Office, too.. One or all of you really like keeping all your files in the cloud and syncing those files to all the devices registered to your MS account. In this case upgrading to 365 is a no brainer. 100gb of Onedrive storage per user inluded with 365 Friends&Family is nothing to be sneezed at.

example: Your current Office IS older but still supported and you're a single user. You do sync all your files to the cloud and happen to be running out of Onedrive space. Rather than buying more space, getting all the benefits of 365 would make more sense.

example: (this one was me) I'm a single user does not sync to Onedrive so additional onedrive space was a non-factor to me. I don't think I will ever sync to Onedrive as long as I can get around it. I had an unsupported version of Office I used to write occassional word documents and had no problems doing that, but I used its Outlook heavily to manage all my email accounts. However, its Outlook did not support modern authentification which major email providers are now requiring.

In 2022, using one of this site sponsors, I chose to take a chance on one of those questionable Office 2021 Pro Plus cheap licenses that was mentioned... $50 at the time. (It's $35 now for Office 2021 Pro). Yes I questioned its validity but I had no problem activating it through MS and I've run it 2 years without issue. It's still activated today and being updated regularly. I did do my research and make sure I bought the licence from a site I was familiar with. It will be supported until 2026 so I'll look at it again then to see if I need to do something else.

If it still works, I'll keep using it without support, but I do expect it will work some time after support ends. If I'm forced to go 365 at that time, I will, but in the meantime for the way I use my machine, averaging $10 a year has worked out for me. For my needs, would I have paid MS full price for Office 2021....no way. I would have sought other alternatives.

That's just 4 scenarios but only you know yours.

Further to the helpful posts by @glasskuter and @cereberus above, Microsoft say this about Office 2024 and Microsoft 365 Apps.

If you have a subscription through a Microsoft 365 (or Office 365) plan, that's separate from Office 2024 or Office LTSC 2024. For example, if you are already using Microsoft 365 or if your organization deployed Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise to the users in your organization, you don't need Office 2024 or Office LTSC 2024. Your Microsoft 365 subscription already has all the features included in Office 2024 or Office LTSC 2024, along with many more features that aren't included in Office 2024 or Office LTSC 2024.

I can still use EXCEL 2010 for most things that EXCEL 2024 does -- OK it's a bit more work but it's do-able - and I'm quite a sophisticated "Power" EXCEL user. Most users of Ms Office don't really need all the extra bells and whistles in newer versions of Office -- although things like better A.I integration etc are worth it if you use those to do the upgrade. OK security is less on the older releases but that's not reakky a serious problem if you computer is adequately secured anyway.

I don't think much will change, 'cept maybe more AI integration..., unless, of course, they force you to use the New Outlook, but, I doubt it.

Office 2024 by its very name is a standalone product. All Office subscriptions are called Microsoft 365.

Articles I have read are linking Office 2024 to M365. This could be because the only current Office 2024 is LTSC or it could be because Microsoft is stupid. I subscribe to the latter.

Regardless, not unlike the 24H2 hysteria, it’s a patient wait.

Yes Microsoft has really confused things. Last year they decided that all of its Office products would be part of Microsoft 365. That includes Office 2021, Office 2024 and Microsoft 365 subscriptions. I think if Microsoft had their way they would eliminate all Office stand-alone products.

Office (2021 & 2024) and Office LTSC (2021 & 2024) are different products aimed at different customers. The LTSC products are for business and government customers that want stability and extended support.

That is correct and is stated clearly in the second bullet point in the Microsoft article I've linked to in my previous post in this thread (#5).

Microsoft state explicitly:
