While I agree with that, it has nothing to do with what I said. They made the default Windows 11 interface less efficient to use when they could have kept the more efficient Windows 10 interface and took away the ability to customize. But that is not what they did. I see no rhyme or reason to this choice except that they felt they had to do something different to be able to lable it a new Windows version, and taking things away is easy.

The issue is that what you find less efficient others may not. While customization sounds nice it's a nightmare when it comes to fixing issues.

Common, that sounds apologist. Having to do more mouse clicks in the context menus to do the same thing is not more efficent for anybody. Having to do more steps to open an application from the start menu is not more efficent for anybody. Tell me something that is easier or faster to do.

Just because someone may not think it's inefficient doesn't mean it's not inefficient though. Like someone might think it's perfectly fine to loosen lug nuts to 4 wheels by hand with a socket wrench. But someone with an impact wrench could get the same task done much faster.

Perhaps you can make that argument in an OS UX. But from a manufacturing standpoint or similar efficiency can be demonstrable. Where less steps or moves can speed things up. Since UX isn't necessarily used in a repetitive manner all the time especially in a consumer scenario then yes, it's highly subjective. And automation scripts could take care of that I suppose. So the User experience itself for people that need to interact with the OS. That could be argued one way or the other.

Thing is we're not talking about a mfg environment were talking about an OS and they're different.. Some users are used to doing things a certain way and they have become fast at doing it.

If you were referring to me, I was not being flippant.
It takes more steps to do the same thing in Windows 11 AS 10. It is not subjective. If you use the context menus you often have to go to show more options to find what your need. In the start menu, MS have taken away named "folders" for a convenient one step organization to get to often used apps. In the start menu you used to be able to access all apps without a second mouse click. Just select a number or letter and you would be there. I don't know how dumbing this down and making it more difficult to get somewhere makes this more suitable for a business environment. That is all. I can live with that, but not that it was justified in any way. I would be glad to know of something that is more efficient in 11 UI or how business interests drove the UI changes.
