It does not affect all drives. I do not have any of the drives mentioned in reports on the web, I have the update installed, and have had no issues.

I only use Windows 11, for MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Adobe Reader, so just lightly browsing eBay, for Mac

I'll be closely monitoring this, and also checking on eBay, for sub £200, 2018/M1 Mac Minis.. :lmao:

No drive issues here and I have 4 Samsung NVMe drives installed including the OS drive, and an SSD drive. Also have Cyberpunk installed.

So lucky for me no "drive" issues. Doesn't mean I'm issue free but that's a story for another thread.

I haven't had any issue and that update is installed on my 25H2 machine. I just wrote a 60GB backup file using Acronis TI to a 60% full 2TB NVMe drive. It wrote and then verified just fine.

So if MS and AI are to be believed then those on the RP channel (self included) shouldn't need to worry:

Microsoft released build 26100.5067 (KB5064081) on August 21, 2025, which explicitly addresses the SSD failure issues that emerged after the installation of build 26100.4946 (KB5063878). Multiple sources, including Microsoft's own forums, confirm that the update is designed to fix the problem.

I didn't miss a beat when this happened. I didn't rush to uninstall KB5063878, I just did a test of one of my internal backup SSD's writing a large file twice back and forth and doing a binary compare of the result. I figure if I can read/write a 350GB file, I'm probably OK.
