MC is my file manager of choice across Windows, Mac, Linux, and Unix. I love it and been using it in Windows 11 without a problem. My System updated to v. 23h2 and now Midnight Commander is super slow and takes about 1 min to load. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Only suggestions I have are:
Run program troubleshooter Settings>system>troubleshoot>other troubleshooters>Program Compatibility
Disable indexing
Make sure graphics driver is updated

From the net:

• Delete or rename the MC configuration directory (usually %APPDATA%\mc on Windows) to force MC to recreate it.
• The updates may have reset locale or environment variables affecting MC startup. Check environment variables like LANG, TERM, and ensure they are set appropriately (e.g., LANG=en_US.UTF-8
• Temporarily disable real-time anti virus scanning or add MC’s executable folder to the antivirus exclusions.

Are you using it with network drives?
Are you running it inside a terminal emulator?
