Monitor/Display bug after windows "Turn off Display after"

Hi,

I have a new PC with a new Windows 11 install.

When i left my PC on and went away for a few minutes, i came back to a black screen, but the display would not turn back on. The monitor gave me a "No HDMI signal" error.

The PC seemed like it was running. I had a video in the background that was paused, and i could use my spacebar to play and pause the video with the audio working just fine.

I unplugged and plugged in my HDMI from the gpu a couple times and was eventually able to get a screen, but it was just my desktop background without any of my icons, and my mouse cursor was missing. The only thing that showed was my taskbar but with AMD's Adrenalin software showing up for some reason even though it wasn't on earlier.

I checked event log/reliability history and saw a couple hardware error entries, but i do not know what they mean, and i don't see much in the way of relevant information.

Small update

I recently got a AMD driver timeout in the middle of playing a game. LiveKernelEvent 141, so i guess the issue is not limited to just monitor timeout although reading around more it sounds like that specifically may be a common issue with AMD gpus.
