Mounting as a Windows Drive a SD Card within an Android Phone

Dear all,

I have a (256Gb) SD card in an Android phone, connected through USB to my laptop. I can access it without any problem from File Explorer, seamlessly read/write to it (MyPc->MyPhone->/.../)

However, this not satisfactorily with respect to what I would like to do. Indeed, I want to be able to >synchronize< the content of this card (MySDCard) with a folder on the PC (MasterFolder). By synchronizing, I mean, for example:
  • duplicate the content of MasterFolder to MySDCard,
  • copying new or updated files from MasterFolder to MySDCard
  • removing files from MySDCard that have been removed from MasterFolder.
It looks like a backup thing, and indeed, I tried an old (but still working very well) backup program named Sync'It. I also tried rsync under cygwin....

... but these solutions rely on making the path of MySDCard visible to either programs, which I don't know how to do. I tried to find a way to mount the phone or rather MySDCard as a Windows drive, could not find how. I have read somewhere that Android would not allow that, but am not sure.

Best regards

Gilbert

It appears your subject should mention a MicroSDXC card as most cellphones, if any, can't accept an SD card nor the MicroSDXC card in it's SD adapter that it usually comes with, better description may get more results. As for mine, Samsung A52, it can accept the MicroSDXC card in the same carrier as the SIM card. As for working with a computer, I can plug a cord into the USB-C port [also used for charging] and into a computer and use as a portable drive to transfer photos either direction. Smartphones may include some software along the line of Connect to a Computer. Some pages that may have help [ignore the SD DMV entry]:

I don't understand what you are writing. I slotted a SD card in the same tray as the SIM card, and no problem to see as a Windows folder. I can do whatever File Explorer can do, but this is not the point. I want to do the 'synchronization' through a command (such as rsync) or a program (such as Sync'It). Both can process the full hierarchy (30000 files?) to make sure the SD card is a duplicated content of my folders (added files are easy, removed files more tricky).
By synchronizing, I mean, for example:
  • duplicate the content of MasterFolder to MySDCard,
  • copying new or updated files from MasterFolder to MySDCard
  • removing files from MySDCard that have been removed from MasterFolder.
