Solved moving files???

OK So I got my new laptop and got setting it up and some of the program install files I had in my downloads I wanted to move them to a different folder but oddly windows now creates a link to the file i the new folder rather then moving it when I try and drop and drag the file to the new folder.

So how can I get windows to drop and drag move a file to a new folder rather then merely creating a link in the new folder.

I know there are menu commands to move or copy but I am talking specifically dropping and dragging the file.

Perfect thanks not sure why MS would change something as basic as moving a file after it's been this way for decades and to change it to making a link is a stupid move! Most people want to move a file not make a shortcut and there was always a command if they did want to make the shortcut option
