Things to try:

1. Go to: edge://settings/system
Toggle Use hardware acceleration when available. If off, turn on. If on, turn off.
Restart edge

2. Check for experimental flags affecting sidebar rendering
edge://flags
Search for these and set them to Default:

Overlay Scrollbars
Compositor Tile Updates
GPU Rasterization
Threaded Scrolling

3. Reset the sidebar UI state
  1. Open Edge.
  2. Turn the sidebar OFF completely.
  3. Close Edge.
  4. Reopen Edge → turn sidebar ON again.
  5. Open the bookmarks panel and scroll.
4. Clear Edge’s rendering cache (not your browsing data)
  1. Go to: edge://settings/clearBrowsingData
  2. Choose Cached images and files only.
  3. Clear then restart Edge.
5. Check for third‑party interference. Disable all Custom themes, UI‑modifying extensions
Temporarily disable them: edge://extensions
Then test the sidebar again.

6. Update Edge (or roll back if the bug is new)

A rendering regression can appear in a specific build.
If you updated Edge recently and the ghosting started immediately afterward, this is a strong clue.

7. Last resort: Reset Edge settings
This does not delete bookmarks.edge://settings/reset
Choose Restore settings to their default values.
