Also, reading back my earlier comment, I feel i've been particularly harsh, Im not saying the videos hold no value or knowledge, that isn't that case at all, They absolutely do and i appreciate the time etc that goes into these things, Its just a bit heavy on and feels a bit un personal towards the OP on some occasions, Im sure there are plenty of times that it has helped, So on a rare occasion i will apologize for being a bit "heavy". Theres just a time and place thats applicable for em, It just sometimes sounds like a sales pitch to watch a video and bring subs to a youtube channel ( Again, there is plenty of useful info in these videos that isn;t the issue).

And before anyone asks, No i was not made/forced to write this. LOL

I'm not sure why they or you thought the need to comment regarding the videos, no one's forcing you to watch them; I personally find a lot of them very helpful.

The simplest method that has saved me a lot of hustle is launching the task manager go to the Details pane check for msedge.exe with the largest memory size allocation right-click on it select the End Process Tree then click on End Process Tree option and you are home free.
That's too many steps. Open Task Manager to Processes, click the first listed and type an M (for Microsoft Edge), and when it jumps to Microsoft Edge, right-click and click End Task. Done.

I was asking csun in reference to his use of the term "the feelings of many".
I know for a fact it has been raised across multiple forums. It's likely the reason why he was banned from Reddit too.

I'm not sure why they or you thought the need to comment regarding the videos, no one's forcing you to watch them;
Without going too much off topic, the main issue people have is that it's excessive and comes across as borderline spam. Many of the videos don't answer the OP's question and if they do, usually a short post would have been more than suffice.

Do you really need a .bat file when a tutorial already exists with the same commands and with actual context as to what it does? That .bat file is literally just a wrapper around two reg commands.

The OP only asked about stopping one BG service, EDGE. Unless we are otherwise notified.

Yes, it does, so long as you open Edge directly, as in clicking a .pdf when you have Edge set as the default for .pdf files. But if You open Copilot, which uses Edge constantly, Edge ignores those settings and keeps running long after you've closed Copilot. In that case, the only way to stop it is through Task Manager.

I felt the need because the OP doesn't always get what they need, its like speaking to a bot that pastes links to youtube, Theres nothing wrong with that, Just within reason and where applicable. I commented because i'd rather the OP got the help the were seeking rather than a very in personal follow this link and zero follow up questions, yes videos can solve problems, but he chose to come on a forum to speak to members as opposed to searching youtube, Im gonna say he wanted a personal touch, eg speaking to someone who acts like a human and not a link posting bot( Exaggerated so you get the point), He does more than that of course, But add in some personal touches and where really applicable post a link if it makes sense not just because you can or for views.

Regardless, it takes a big person to realize they made a mistake, even if others agree with the original act, and to apologize for it. It is rare these days, especially online.
