Hi, I'm new . . . and looking for coding or advice about how to repair the ms-xxxx associations that, practically, might get Settings functional again.
Guessing it might have something to do with Microsoft OS and AMD's Radeon graphics not getting along well together - because when either of them updates it causes some type of time consuming problem. With my version of windows there should no longer be any updates . . . but there seem to be, or my settings would not be changing when it is not accessible to me, and that has been problematic. Have done malware, virus, etc, checks and there seem to be no problems. Mine is not a microsoft account profile.
While exploring around it looked like apps may have been archived, however I did not archive and and no one else uses this computer. That happened in the past too. If some service is responsible I need to disable it. But hard to know which it might be.
Trying to avoid this:
Get-AppxPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
then having to do a lot of uninstalling, and reconfiguring. Have found Developer Mode activated after I found it that way the first time and deactivated it. The coding above makes me wonder if it is a common problem.

- Purchased new from AskHand in 2023 with first version of Windows 11 installed. Had finally come to terms with Windows 10, dual booted on Windows 7 but used 7 most of the time. (Tried 10 when it was new and aghast at the fact that it was a giant mobile interface, so left it alone until many upgrades and improvements later, maybe a year before Windows 11 was available). Almost updated to version 23, but chose not to when it was near end-of-life and the promise of no more updates - some have arrived anyway (and did not want the constant snapshots or A.I. in the next versions).
