Proper London, if you mean Central London correct.....I used to live there (Tottenham Court Road) near to the hospital I was working at....The Middlesex hospital back in the 90s.

2nd thing being an old Oneplus user am thinking about getting Xiaomi 12 S Ultra, your thoughts on that.

Thanks @Edwin , pinning to taskbar shows all even without changing their names (like in File Explorer), BUT earlier won't show on Recommended without changing their names.

Added:

@Winuser , when I click on save as and give it a new name I get this message from Off.... I just click on OK and now they are showing instantly as mentioned under Recommended.

@Winuser , just noticed, by changing the name of one earlier file and saving it, has brought all earlier documents now showing up without even changing their name.....

What a fortuitous occurrence!

The docs not showing in Recent must have had something to do with the older format. At least you found a solution.

. Now all show in secs, I opened 20 Word files and in 30 secs all showed up...

You are very welcome! I have to admit that I never expected my suggestion to not only solve the problem for the one doc but that it also solved the problem for all of your docs.
