My ASUS laptop freezes/lags for a second or two on startup and after waking up from sleep

Mouse cursor stops moving and I though at first the problem is within the mouse but the same thing happens with touchpad and also I pressed on caps lock and it didn't lit up. I have no idea if it's a software problem or a hardware problem. The freezing or lagging only happens for two seconds, no more, at the login screen. Then after typing password, I check the panel that contains wifi, sound, battery and all that in the taskbar and it does the same behavior as well, freezes for a bit and then everything back to normal again. Sometimes it freezes again when I check the panel in the middle of my work on the laptop but other than that everything works just fine. It also happens when the laptop goes to sleep, when I wake it up, it freezes again at login screen and at that panel I mentioned after logging in. Not sure if I'm in the right section or is it more to do with ASUS not Windows. Please help.

Welcome to the forum.
Before troubleshooting as an OS issue, rule out software conflict causing the issue by using clean boot. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial
So I did a clean boot and disabled all non-microsoft services and restarted but the problem still persists. The freezing that happens for only a second or two when I do specific actions like opening panel that has wifi, battery, etc still there and also when I go to settings and click on display for example or devices, just random things like this but again it normally mainly happens after a startup or waking up from sleep and also while shutting down, system freezes/lags for a second before performing a shutdown.

Let me ask one question. When you shut down or sleep, do you do so with a lot of windows open? If so, test using both sleep and shut down by first closing all windows to see what happens.

Since it happens in clean boot, I would then suggest the following:
Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer

Hello, I'd also check your chipset drivers are up to date on the Asus website. Can also suggest checking events log app (type in search box). Disable fastboot in power options screen. See if it makes a difference. Apologies if any vets have already suggested the above.

Okay, I did sfc /scannow in command prompt and this is what I got "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations". I assume this means it didn't detect any problems right. The thing is apart from what I mentioned about scenarios when laptop freezes, it works absolutely fine which is what I don't understand. It's not like it freezes and not work again until I restart or anything. Also tried fastboot but again no luck. Even tried doing a clean install of Windows 11 without luck. I noticed also that Windows Security is really slow when I run it for some reason, sometimes doesn't even load completely, I'm not sure if it's related to the problem.

Yes, that response for SFC is what you want to see. Try this. Completely disconnect the mouse and its receiver (if it's cordless).
Does the touchpad work normally then? What brand/model mouse do you use?

See if these suggestions for both mouse and touchpad help. I suggest using only the touchpad first while making changes. If you can get it to work correctly, then connect the mouse and deal with it. If working in registry, always backup registry first.

These are all the errors I got today (entries shown in red color). Any of those might be causing the quick freezes or lags?

Tried these methods before but unfortunately those freezes/lags still happen with both touchpad and mousepad. I tried also touchpad all alone on the startup to rule out any issues that might be caused by mousepad, however, this still didn't fix the problem.

Those errors are all application related. They would only affect your mouse and touchpad being slow to respond IF they happened at the exact same time and were in the process of recovering when you were trying to use your input devices. I really do not think they are the cause of your problem but if they are recurring events pointing to the same application you would need to deal with them. You will always have transient errors. It's the recurring errors you have to deal with.
. It is up to you to correlate the times to see if they are related.
It is also up to you to use event viewer to determine if these application events are recurring events or transient events.

Sorry, I overlooked that. Before you do anything, clarify some things first. When you say installed in the last few days, do you mean CLEAN install? Or did you do a Repair Install?
If you clean installed, how did you get your drivers? Download manually from Asus, use Armoury Crate, OR did you let windows update install ANY of your drivers? If you clean installed did you immediately notice this issue or was it after your installed Asus software and/or drivers.

Boot into safe mode. Search Msconfig. Open system configuration app from search results. Boot tab. Select safe boot. Apply. OK. Restart.
See if the issue appears in safe boot. (To exit safe mode do the same thing from within safe mode except uncheck the safe boot option, apply, OK, restart.)

Also Please do this. Open cmd prompt as admin and type the following and post a screenshot.
powercfg -a

Also look in control panel>power options. What power plan are you using? Temporarily set your power plan to balanced. While there also do as @reece suggested. Turn off fast startup while you do your troubleshooting. Sorry to ask all this of you but we have to get you to some baseline where to start trying to narrow this down.

This laptop is new, like less than one month old. It came with Windows 11 but I kept getting those random freezes in different scenarios so I thought maybe there's a problem with it so I decided to do a clean install and remove all apps and make everything go back to default again. Then I installed it all over again from the beginning. I've let Windows Update get all the drivers for me. The only two things I downloaded myself are MyASUS app and Armoury Crate software but the rest including display drivers was taken care by the update.

Those lags/freezes don't seem to happen in safe mode, however, I can't confirm that completely because there are lots of actions that I couldn't perform in safe mode that normally cause those lags I get in non-safe mode, for example: wifi panel from taskbar and some settings I try to access but it doesn't let me.

Please check the attached picture. it has results of this command powercfg -a
I tried turning off fast startup before but it was unsuccessful, nothing came out of it. I also did set power plan to balanced before. I don't have high performance plan as well anyways for some reason.
