Solved My personal PC shows Edge browser managed by my organization - why?

As the title says, this is my personal PC and I'm using my personal Outlook account, I have no work profiles/account associated with this PC.
Why do I get this message? How can I disable it? Is this what's causing my errors when I try to install Edge extension?

If it's your Personal Computer - you, as administrator - are the organization. Group Policy Changes in particular - are usually labeled that way.

On my Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems I use O&O Shutup to disable all kinds of stuff, that Microsoft uses to follow me, force me to do something I don't like etc. Not that I think I will be completely independent of what MS does, but I try to reduce it as much as possible. It is far more easy than changing the registry settings myself (although I don't hesitate to do that when I can change some functioning of the system). With O&O Shutup I can (re)store the settings of O&O Shutup of a certain moment or set them back to none at all.

Many of the options showed by O&O Shutup are done by registry changes and often in the Group-policy part of it. So in many places in the Windows settings as well as in Edge (which I don't really use, only when a site has problems with Firefox) I see that it is "managed by your organization".

May be you use the same or some similar program. Or you use some other app that changed the Group-policy settings of Edge.
Or you bought a PC with pre-installed Windows, where they already had some Group-policy settings changed. Who knows...

The registry edits as proposed by @TairikuOkami in post #3 might help you in that case. As a matter of fact they fully delete all Group-policy settings of Edge for current user and for local machine, so if you did change something on purpose, you'll have to redo that afterwards.

That did the trick. The 2nd command stated that the registry key wasn't found, though.
