OS
Win11/10 Dual Boot
I have this problem: I am running Win 11 version 22623.875 (Beta) and I for the life of me move my icons around where I want them. I've restarted Windows Explorer, checked the settings for the icons, but they're stuck. The battery, volume and wi-fi icons are good but the ones that follow, Defender, Onedrive, etc. are stuck and when I try to move them, they bounce back to where the were. Could anyone help me? Thanks

This appears to be a bug in the Beta build 22623.875 and had been there for a few builds now. I can't rearrange my system tray icons either. If you read through this thread you'll see that many (but not all) have the same problem.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

I figured that. First time this has happened. 22623.870 was alright. Hope they fix this. I'll give MS some feedback on it.
Thanks for the quick response.

I wonder if Reset might fix the problem. If I download from the cloud, it probably won't fix anything. The best would be to live with it, get use to my icons not being the way they should be and wait it out.

If your "reset" loaded a non-beta OS, it would be working as expected and not weird at all.

It reset my beta, of course. When you are on a beta build, or any build for that matter, it resets what you have. The system you are running is what is reset. Got it from the cloud and downloaded the exact same Win 11 version 22623.875 (Beta).
