The scroll bar is slightly wider in Win 10 than it is in Win 11. On the plus side Win 10 is now up to date.

There might be 0.5 millimetres in it, or in the old measurement, 1/50 Inch, depending on the size of your monitor, but it's better than this.

MS claim to care about people with difficulties but this is obvious garbage when anybody with quarter of a brain would see narrow toolbars is discriminatory!

I have started to use two finger scrolling more on touchpad as narrow toolbars are not so easy to use. I never really liked two finger scrolling as the direction is reverse to how a mouse scroll wheel works but I never really delved into this. I finally put some effort into looking at this and after 20 seconds of googling, I discovered that you can reverse the two finger direction, and now it feels more natural to me - swipe down, page moves down, swipe up page moves up.

Allegedly, the default directions are supposed to more natural - you are dragging page up with up movement so your view moves down page, and vice versa. I guess that is true if using a toilet roll (at least for down) LOL.

Incidentally, scroll left or right is same either way. It would blow your brain if you could reverse that!

I guess each person will be different.

I've got used to swipe down and page moves up- moves the same direction as the swipe. Another thing I like about the touchpad is three finger tap hence no search icon needed on taskbar and four finger tap.

A four finger tap brings up the Action Centre and Calendar. A two finger tap which is the same as a right click.

Pick your Firefox 97 Scrollbar:

about:config > widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.style > choose one of 0 thru 5

That's probably what I like most about Firefox!

Perish the thought that Chrome would ever let you mess around with their css!

I think that MS or any software company that wants to change things in a program to make it harder to see should also give us the option to change back. Not everyone has young eyes and good eyesight.

Unlike previous Windows operating systems, Windows 11 provides little choice.

And MS wants people with disabilities to feel like they belong. I guess people with visual impairments don't count. I have left a few feedbacks about them forgetting that some users are color impaired. Now they also need to know that some people have trouble seeing such things as small scroll lines.

Just got my Windows 11 machine and this was so annoying. Stumbled across this, it's a real simple registry edit. Trust me, I'm no tech and it was very easy for me... just follow the instructions. Link below my text... I set mine to -350 and it's perfect, you can make it as wide as about 1 inch!

Press Win+R in combination to bring up the Run dialog box. In the dialog box that appears, type REGEDIT and hit the OK button. If prompted by UAC, click on Yes.

Now, in the Windows Registry window that opens navigate to the following location –

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics
Change Windows 8 Scrollbar Width

Select the key and in the right pane of WindowsMetrics, double-click ‘ScrollHeight’ word.

Instantly, a window should appear on your computer screen (EDIT DWORD). In the value data field of the window, enter a data value.

The default value for scroll width is -225. Entering 500 will double the width, which should be fine in my opinion.

But you can enter any value up to 1500. You could say, enter 1400 to make it even bigger. Remember, the more or higher the value, the wider is the scrollbar.

Next, double tap on ScrollWidth in the right pane of WindowMetrics. In EDIT DWORD window, enter the same data value as entered for “ScrollHeight” and tap OK.

Now close Windows Registry Editor. For changes to apply, you’ll need to sign out and sign-in, back to your user account.

Open File Explorer and you will find that the scroll bar width has been changed.

This should resolve your problem. Now, you can easily move the scroll bar up-down or sideways easily, without much effort.

Goes without saying – Backup your registry or create a system restore point first!
