I have installed KB 5034848 on both this laptop HP Laptop 15-dy2xxx and my HP desktop i7 10th gen
and am having absolutely no problems with either machine.

I know, some are perfectly fine with it but, so many others are having trouble.
It is reported that the KB5034765 is also causing havoc.

It may have been you but it's was awhile ago.
Edit: It was @Fabler2 that recommended FxSound back in April of 2022.

An UPDATE with a twist---
Back on 03/08 I stated my issue was gone and I was back to a normal bootup and functioning machine
That was short lived.
3-days later the freeze issue came back and was more numerous.
Long story short-
I did indeed have a hardware issue---a faulty OE SSD.
I replaced the original drive with a WD item (same capacity) but the larger size-2280 verses the original 2230.
I restored my latest IMAGE to the new drive and NO more freeze issues.
My desktop is now back to a normal boot up and has been working for almost 1-1/2 weeks without a single freeze event.
PLS disregard the information I provided earlier regarding services that caused my machine to freeze. That information is faulty as I still had a freeze issue with those services disabled as I was still using the OE SSD.

    The case fan and CPU cooler were after purchase upgrades...the i7 cpu runs hot and the OE solution can best be described as marginal when CPU intensive apps are used.
    ALSO added a VRM and SSD passive heatsinks.
So after all it was the same kind of defect as what I experienced and described in my post #17!
My own system has not failed anymore since then.

Good to hear that you found the reason and managed to cure the fault by replacing the SSD!
The system with saved system-images reallly saves a lot of time in case of such a problem, because you don't need to start from the beginning of re-installing the system.
