Network not discoverable after Windows upgrade 10 to 11

Newb seeking help.

Windows 10 version 21H1 (OS build 19043, 1586)

Recently had an unscheduled upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Before the upgrade all was well.

After the upgrade, I was not able to get my printer to work or even be found on my network. After doing a few other operational/compatibility tests, I found that none of my network devices were seen or even discoverable and my router was inaccessible. Even though I had internet access (via chrome or edge), if I tried to login to my Netgear router I would get the message "Your internet access is blocked". I tried a few suggested fixes (turned off firewalls and aniti virus,cleared cache etc) but none worked. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the network adapter drivers. Problem exists even if I use ethernet cable. After about a week of trying to get the network issue resolved, I rolled back to Windows 10. It seems the problem rolled back also. I have internet access but still cannot see my network or access the router.

I have other windows 10 systems that use my home network which never upgraded and they all seem to be fine.

This phenom has been happening for some persnickity systems even back in Window 10, usually with no rhyme or reason to it.

First, make sure that all wireless devices are assigned ip addresses on either the 2g or 5g side of your network. They must not be mixed.

Attempt to access the troublesome PC using it's ip address. Find its ipv4 address by typing ipconfig /all from command prompt.
On one of the other systems in file explorer address bar type the ip address. Do the shared files show up?

I had one system that would not show up on my network map no matter what I did. I spent hours upon hours checking and rechecking everything. I used this ip sharing method for some time to access shared files until I broke down and did a clean install on it which cleared everything up.

Another thing to try is:

This may be different in 10 pending on version, but click the Wireless icon in the system tray, click the little arrow next to your current wifi and it should say the network you're connected to. There will be a little i in a circle, click that and it will open Settings... make sure you select "Private" network and not "Public". Reboot for the hell of it and see if that helped.
