Windows 11
Hello
Good morning everyone
I have encountered a problem in Windows 11 that has been bothering me for months.
I have a set of systems that are connected to each other in a network and most of them use Windows 10. In this network set, there is a system that I have shared a printer with and all systems can print from it. The system that I use uses Windows 11 - 25H2, but the problem is that unfortunately it could not find the network correctly. After a lot of effort, it finally found the network, but there is another problem that when logging in to the system or even installing the shared printer manually, I encounter a username and password message, while the system where the printer is installed and shared does not have a password. However, I also set a password for that system, but when I enter the password, I encounter the message in the attached picture and it does not log in at all. Please help. Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

This is due to Microsoft tightening security in Windows 11 24h2 and above.
I believe you can fix this by adding a credential for the machine that is hosting the printer. This will need to be done in all machines that are unable to access the shared printer.

In fact, I have found that sharing is more dependable if every machine on the network has a credential built in credential manager for each of the other networked machines. machines.
  1. Open the Credentials Manager from the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Go to Windows Credentials.
  3. Click Add a Windows credential.
  4. In the "Internet or network address" field, enter \\ followed by the computer name or IP address of the computer sharing files or printers.
  5. Enter the username and password for an administrator account for the machine you are trying to access. For example I network 4 computers. In each computer I created a credential for the other 3.
Note: Even if computers use the same user account name and password, even the same MS account, you still need to create a credential for it.
It must be a password, not a pin. While you can still use a pin, you must restart the device and log into it using a password at least once for this to work.

For some reason one or several of your computers still uses the old and legacy NTLM authentication method. The modern method is using Kerberos. Windows 11 has NTLM disabled entirely by default.

You can however enable NTLM via Group Policy Editor. I don't know how to do this in the Registry directly though (in case you are on Windows Home, which needs to be tweaked via regedits). You will also need SMB1.0/CIFS Filesharing support...

Here is a link to Lenovo Support that should solve your issue.
