Solved (New) Outlook problem

I woke up this morning and my new outlook mail program will not start up it just shows a blue envelope open and closing but never starts up ..... After hitting troubleshoot it says something about AAD and that it might self mitigate itself ..... This is on a desk top pc running win 11 24h2 fully updated and supported.

But I checked my other desk top pc and it is running win 11 23h2 unsupported and the mail program works just fine ..... Oh and I uninstalled new outlook then added it back but it gives the same result ..... Any ideas as to what my problem might be.

Try repairing or resetting Outlook New

  • Try Repair first. If issues persist, proceed with Reset.
  • Press Win + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Apps > Installed apps.
  • Scroll down or use the search bar to find Outlook (new).
  • Click the three-dot menu next to Outlook and select Advanced options.
  • Scroll down to the Reset section.
  • Choose one of the following:
    • Repair – Attempts to fix the app without affecting your data.
    • Reset – Reinstalls the app and may delete app data.
  • Confirm your choice when prompted.

I don't have Outlook new so here is an image of MS Paint. It should be the same in Outlook New.

AAD (Azure Active Directory) Apparently you’re not alone.

As this is apparently Azure related, If the above doesn't work, see if you can Clear Cached Credentials to resolve it.

  • Close Outlook and all Office apps completely.
  • Open Credential Manager:
    • Press Win + S, type Credential Manager, and open it.
  • Go to the Windows Credentials tab.
  • Remove any entries related to:
    • MicrosoftOffice
    • Outlook
    • AzureAD
  • Restart your PC.
  • Try launching Outlook again.
Only remove the credentials mentioned. Do this at your own risk. You may have to setup your mail again.

Sorry about not getting back earlier but I'm trying everything people have offered but still nothing seems to work ..... If I ever get this sorted I'll let everyone know.

Ok everybody I have solved my problem .... I found a YT video by Glitch Guru - Titled: Fix new outlook app not opening on windows.
And if you watch the video it references 3 ways to solve it .... The first way did not work but the second one did so I didn't even try the third way.
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

So is that this video? What was the second way to solve it please? (I know I can't be bothered to watch the whole video!).

Hazel123 that is the correct video .... Come on now it's only 2 minutes long ..... Watch it and you will see the second way he shows which is the one that worked for me.
