This is probably already dealt with - but just in case.....When I first got my Windows 11 machine I spent most of the first day thinking I was going to lose my mind...or that I had already lost it! I didn't know that in Win 11, it arrives with Windows already connected to One Drive. And every time you put a file on your desktop, as many of us do almost reflexively, Win 11 takes the file and store it on One Drive.
So I put a file on my desktop. I went to Explorer to find the file...and it wasn't there! I went back to the desktop and there it was....but it wasn't listed under the desktop in explorer. A friend used his win 11 computer for over a year never realizing the files on his desktop did not actually "live" on his machine and were not private and local, as he'd assumed.
