New Version of ExplorerPatcher

I found a workaround. Since the default Windows 10 network flyout doesn't display the Wi-Fi, Flight etc icons properly, you can change it to Windows 8 or Windows 11 flyout. This works OK, but I would prefer the standard Windows 10 network flyout.

Found a bug that has been here for a few versions and didn't find anything regarding it.

if you right click start menu icon and select "Windows PowerShell (admin)" powershell will open as unelevated user (and no UAC). If choosing Windows Terminal (Admin) it will open as elevated (and show UAC).

If you right click the start menu icon again after clicking "Windows PowerShell (admin)" explorer will crash

Running 22000.1042 and 22621.608.51.1

I have Open Shell installed so right-click on start button doesn't show the Windows Tools menu and haven't seen this bug. Have you tried installing the latest Explorer Patcher? The bug may be fixed.

Edit: Just confirmed the bug. It also happens in the latest version. If you right-click on the start button and select Powershell Admin and then right-click again, Explorer crashes and restarts. Probably the Developer wasn't aware of this bug, or he would have fixed it.

@valinet Thank you for 22H2 (Build 2262x) support and new versions.

I would like to report a small problem that exists in the new version before and now.

After every log-in and log-off or restart to Windows, Language Bar displays in SysTray, even though I tried all known the disabling methods.

And Registry commands, too:
REG add "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar" /v "ShowStatus" /t REG_DWORD /d "3" /f
REG add "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar" /v "ExtraIconsOnMinimized" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f

Temporarily turn off to LangBar from CMD:
powershell -c "Set-WinLanguageBarOption -UseLegacyLanguageBar"

Restart or log-off. Result: Again. The LanguageBar is again visible in the System Tray.

P.S.: I just tried StartAllBack. This issue doesn't occur on it.

@hdmi Thank you for sharing the relevant problem page in Github.

I just applied the classic setting recommended by @valinet;

Run: explorer "shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}" \SystemIcons

Then I turned off the Input Indicator in the System Icons.

This old method, which I forgot, is a definite solution. The Language bar no longer appears on the system tray.

Before turn "off" to Input Indicator (AKA Language Bar), I tried to track the change to be made in the Registry through Nirsoft's RegistryChangesView. Unfortunately, no changes were detected in Registry. Well then where did Windows recorded that "Input Indicator" is now "off"? I wish I could detect. If it was possible to detect it, I would have asked @valinet to add support to easily turn on/off the "Input Indicator" directly from ExplorerPatcher.

I am the author of that page on GitHub. Here is an old post from someone else on superuser, describing the exact same thing that I did:
Clearly, this is an old (and likely still unresolved) bug in Windows that dates all the way back to an era when neither Windows 11 nor ExplorerPatcher existed yet. But yes, from what you and I have described, it would appear that ExplorerPatcher can somehow trigger this bugged behavior in Windows 11, under some circumstances the specific details of which remain a big mystery even today. Even so, it could also be unrelated to ExplorerPatcher still nevertheless. If @valinet doesn't know, then surely, this is going to be the $64,000 question. :-)

Yeah, I don't know, as you said, problem seems to be a long standing bug in Windows. There are tons of issues really, I do not necessarily have a passion to investigate each and every one of them, to be honest, even though I as well would like to see them solved.

Why no option for colored selected items in contextmenus ??
This is ( for now) only possible with StartAllBack.................:wink:
Uh, no one coded this in and offered to maintain it... You can contribute at any time. "Why"... :/

The selected context-items are very light-grey , almost invisible for many people !
Would be very appreciated if we could get a colored contextmenu ( only selected, right-click , mouse ).........

It's because, after fixing the taskbar, fixing the systray, fixing File Explorer, fixing the Start Menu, fixing the window switcher, fixing various other stuff and uploading the fixes plus a bunch of extras completely for free, he hot lazy.

I have a problem under build 22000.1098. When "skin tasktar and tray pop-up menus" is unchecked, the right-clicking on the taskbar crashes explorer. This happens under any theme, with and without 7+TT running and resetting EP settings does not help. When it is checked, the context menus are shown but without text on the buttons.

Try to uninstall both Explorer Patcher and any third party application affecting the taskbar (such as Open Shell). Then restart and install again the application and then Explorer Patcher.

Also, window switchers do not work, WinNT one does not work, others crash Explorer on Alt+Tab.

Even though it's supposed to be fixed now, I can break the Windows 10 network flyout again by clicking on the network icon and the gearwheel icon in an alternating fashion a few times, and then the control center flyout also gets replaced with the notifications flyout. Restarting explorer temporarily fixes it.
