The beauty of EP for me is being able to have a Quick Launch Area. I use the small icons in EP's icon size choices. Problem with that last two Windows Updates, they break one of my pinned apps in the menu, Registry Editor. I can access it but cannot export keys. When trying to do so the export windows closes.

I presume you mean the latest version of EP, in which case I am already using it and that is the version which won't work with this build.

No I mean the earlier version of Windows 11 Insider's Preview. Why not just upgrade to 25324... Oops I just realized this is the earlier version 25330.1000 is obviously newer, hadn't paid attention. So you have to stay with the earlier version until there is a new Explorer Patcher that fixes the bug in the latest.

Indeed, that is what I have done. The last time this happened it took Valinet a while to produce an update that fixed the issue. I still get very annoyed that MS won't give us back what we want and yet make changes that stop EP from working.

Sooo I have a question, my version is still on 22621.1413.54.5, where can I download the latest version? Or what is the new address for the update servers?

BTW I can't search in the Start Menu anymore (Default Windows 10 Start Menu), opening the Start Menu and typing does absolutely nothing anymore!

I had a weird symptom today. I was remotely connected to my home computer (see 2nd system specs) and was updating some applications. I also realized there was a newer version of Explorer Patcher, although I had until 2-3 days before updated it. I did the usual procedure, right-clicked on the taskbar, selected Properties and then went in Update and selected to install latest update and restart Explorer. Upon restart I had a blank blue screen (probably the same color as the default blue color in the theme) and could do nothing remotely, not even sending CTRL+ALT+DEL worked. I decided that I really shouldn't have done it and I could only resolve it later locally when at home. However 2-3 hours later I decided to reconnect to see what happens and the computer was back to the desktop with all my applications open, hadn't restart. I don't know why Explorer process was stuck and couldn't load, but it seems eventually managed to load without any other issue.

Once again for the second time in two or so months Windows update happend yesterday/today (KB5023706 and KB5023778) and since then ExplorerPatcher (latest version (54.5) breaks.

This time the Start button doesn't open Start Menu at all but instead triggers File Explorer to restart — so the whole desktop and taskbar and tray reloads every time you click on Start button — no actual start menu ever shows up. The only thing that shows up before the reload is my mouse pointer turning into a dreaded hourglass twisting and warning me the impending incoming doom.

And the start menu button's context menu mode (to bring out the small list of stuff like Device Manager) doesn't work either.

Needlesss to say regrettably I have uninstalled ExplorerPatcher once again — this time permanently or for the foreseeable future, just in order to be able to restore basic functionality to my PC. Permanent because, although I'm sure this bug will also be solved soon, in the mean time I don't wanna change habit and switch to Run / Command Prompt or Powershell terminal (type something while my mouse sits idle) just to open every single app / program or view what I have installed and do this after every cumulative Windows update to bridge the gap between each update and a subsequent patch by ExplorerPatcher. That's not doable as a routine thing right now... maybe later.

No problems here. As soon as I have installed latest Explorer Patcher before installing all Windows Updates, I have no bugs.

Must be accidental but did Microsoft find a way to incapacitate ExplorerPatcher with every monthly update now (in 2023)? EP/valinet also alluded to this last month in his message here All: Implemented a mechanism to stop repeated crashes · valinet/ExplorerPatcher@d7e5b7d

I guess a bit more tweak is needed there too, since this promised new "message window informing the user about what is happening" never shows up when Windows Start crashes.

Informed by everything that happened to me during the previous cumulative update (March) I uninstalled EP before today's update which gave me winver 22621.1555, did you do the same, if not were there any problems.

After installing 22621.1555 the ExplorerPatcher weather app no longer works for me, I don't know if @valinet is aware of this

here the ExplorerPatcher 22621.1413.54.5
works fine with Windows 11 Home 22621.1555 at the moment
except the Search icon, don't works (loupe with box is my just only option)

I usually keep my computer on and turn off only the monitor. As expected after some days without restarting some bugs may appear. Once I restart the computer everything is back to normal. Have this in mind if you also leave your computer running for too long. A bug I had lately was a very long lag in File Explorer. I clicked on a file and Explorer wasn't responding for a few seconds. If I wanted to copy-paste I had to wait several seconds before each step was done. I couldn't restart at the time because the computer was busy rendering a large 4K video. After I could finally restart the bug was gone.

Same here. In the Weather window the explanation from google about their cookie policy appears for a split second before EP detects and replaces that with its own error message.
