Yes, I got a list of paths in the command line, one below the other, all 5 if I'm not mistaken.
Trust me I did, I opened CL in admin mode, copied your prompt, replaced the text in the path with my name, but it didn't work. I don't know why.

You replace myname with your username. It should work. For example if your username is George, this is C:\Users\George\Downloads\ep-setup.exe

Instead, just verify that the command's output properly contains C:\Users\myname\Downloads\ep_setup.exe (where myname is your username). Then if it does, downloading the file from GitHub should work. If it still doesn't, if Windows Security still quarantines the file, it means that exclusions in Windows Security aren't working properly for you, which would be not normal.

Now it works, only when I did what you told me (pasted the command without changing anything) I was able to download the EP without problems. Thank you very much for the effort you put into helping me.

I used the PowerShell script to save my open File Explorer windows (see earlier posts), updated Explorer Patcher and then restored them. Thanks @hdmi

The command that I earlier posted doesn't work if you aren't using the tweak that restores the classic File Explorer (that has the Windows 10 Ribbon, and that doesn't have Tabs).

if you use SAB with the windows 10 ribbon explorer it does have tabs tho

The command I wrote is intended only for those who, like me, believe that tabs in File Explorer (along with all the other so-called "improvements") aren't useful. The command does not retrieve the folderpath from each tab of a tabbed File Explorer. Instead, the command assumes that there exists only one folderpath for each individual File Explorer window so, the command doesn't support multiple tabs.

Don't close the PowerShell window.

Update Explorer Patcher or restart File Explorer.

Execute this command to RESTORE open windows:

well this one does. just opened 3 tabs in windows 11 tabbed explorer, ran the first command, restarted explorer, ran the second command and it launched all 3 windows and since i have that other ahk script running in the background it intercepted them and opened them in new tabs instead. 100% does work...

I never use tabs, at least for the time being, don't know in the future. Also I use Mica for everyone to restore the familiar blue background at some applications, including File Explorer. The tabs turn that blue to a light cyan which I don't like, so I switched to Windows 10 style to get the non-tabbed version.

Well, maybe the tabs are restored when you open a new File Explorer window, much like the last text files are opened when I load Notepad. However, I don't use tabs, so the previously open windows stay closed, unless I save/restore them.

no, not like notepad. it intercepts the new windows and puts them in new tabs as i described.

Compatibility report: In my main PC (2nd system specs) I have Open Shell and Explorer Patcher installed to customize appearance. I have set Windows 7 start menu and start button and a lighter blue shade than default for the taskbar in Open Shell. I have set Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher) style for the taskbar and to ungroup the power-network-sound icons so I can customize them (if grouped the default icons show instead). I noticed that after the upgrade to 24H2 the taskbar color might change to the darker default blue shade when I open an application and can return to the lighter blue shade if I open another. Not always, but it happens. Also if I switch from one application to another or I open a new application, the search icon and the "change desktop" icon next to it might disappear from the taskbar. To bring them back, I open Explorer Patcher settings or Windows taskbar settings and temporarily change to search box and back to search icon. Since Open Shell is no longer supported, hopefully a newer Explorer Patcher version will fix that. Not big deal, but annoying if I want to search something and the search icon has disappeared.
