New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Maybe because I upgrade ExplorerPatcher before the update by renaming the .dll file dragging new .dll file into windows and restarting explorer then upgrade with Windows Update ... Worked for me :)

my experience, system try is reset with every Windows build (registry is cleaned). System try stays intact with ExporePatcher update

You are right ! Didn't really think about what I was writing.
(Even though my "Angst" is the difference between "phi" and "psi").

But another real problem, I did not mention before, is "xi" which is "q" on my keybord and "a" on an English one

I updated ExplorerPatcher before I rebooted to finalize the install of the Windows update.

I tried this (without Windows update) already before and it works if I restart Explorer from outside the ExplorerPatcher configuration menu (and not from inside), which seems logic !

@RogerOver I don't use any scripts, I just drag the new .dll into windows (after renaming the old one) bring up the win + x menu and select properties, under about I restart explorer and all is fine. Last night the household computer updated before I updated ExplorerPatcher so I had to get the icons back but the settings stayed the same

As the updates come out so regularly, unless it cures a problem that I have I think maybe I will only download the important ones as I have four machines to do each time a new release comes out. I don't mind doing them on this, my best machine but not all of them

The last version 22000.318.36.1 causes alert on my system as a possible malware: Trojan:Win32/Sabsik.TE.A!ml

That's not good, it's the first time when dxgi.dll is perceived as malware by Windows Security. While I think that it's not a true malware but false detection, it would be better to contact the author who may change some recently added lines of code to avoid this detection.

@Slavic I scanned the file with Norton and nothing was found. Sometimes I get a WS reputation.1 which only means there is little or no info on it.
I just ran it through Virus Total and 65 engines found nothing, so I am happy it's clean. I hope you find this helpful in deciding

I completely agree, I temporarily switched off real-time scanning, downloaded dxgi.dll and checked it in both Virustotal and Jotti's virusscan: not a single detection. So it's a false detection by WS.

But the problem is, Microsoft is too big elephant to ignore and a lot of people may count entirely on WS antivirus (or even don't think at all about malware) and react inappropriately when such alert happens. Sure, the MS devs may soon or later fix their definitions, but this DLL will not be the first in their TODO list. If it would be a program from world-known company...

Love this patcher! Donated to keep this going.
I updated by booting to another partition and replacing. Have 2 copies of 11, and 10 on different partitions.
Windows 11 taskbar is a disaster! WTF where they thinking?

Welcome to the Forum, A great bunch of knowledgeable people here. I think ExplorerPatcher is so good. Last update it didn't work when the new version of windows came along, waiting for new symbol files. In which case you can use Winaero tweaker and add the missing icons with a tweak (documented elsewhere on the forum) or better still wait until you get the new version of ExplorerPatcher before using WU. What build are on? I am on the release build 22000.318

TY. I'm on 318 too. I have Winareo Tweaker also.
I just installed win 11 for the fist time 2 days ago. It seems very fast on this PC. Noticeably Faster than my windows 10 partition.

Subjective assessment from many users on this forum agrees with your impression. I notice little things, like the speed at which, say, Disk Cleanup or Control Panel opens. Instant. Wow!

I used Winaero Tweaker taskbar and ExplorerPatcher together, didn't work so I had to turn off the taskbar featue in Winaero, it is good for a taskbar backup if you have trouble with ExplorerPatcher

IKR! Instant opening of some apps!
I use power saving mode which lowers CPU temp to ~36C from 47C. And lowers CPU power consumption to 27 watts on my AMD Ryzen 3700x.
That power saving mode mode does not affect performance at all. It's amazing. Even in games. Not overclocked. Memory is. 3600. It's CL 14. Never seen that mode in any of my other PC's perform like that. IDK if the same thing happens with Intel CPU's

Just using Winaero Tweaker for a few tweaks.

Latest servicing update on the Dev Insider build 22499.1010 went quick, but after the first restart Explorer wouldn't start (with ExplorerPatcher).. ended with black screen..

Started task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and manually started Explorer solved the problem.

Everything fine after that

Same here (black screen), but already on 22000.318, restarted explorer (alt+ctrl+delete and taskmanager), and Explorer was back !
Run "chkdsk /f" and "sfc run" and finally "Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /limitaccess" for caution.
