I have set up 3 Windows 11 computers to play the beep-baap sound whenever I accidentially hit the capslock key.

It is working on two of them perfectly, on the third one not.

Only after a user sign-out/sign-in on that 3rd PC it is also working there.

Anybody an idea what could be the problem here? (Settings of course all done as on the other two pcs.)

WinVer: Version 24H2 Build 26100.4652
Note: Due to its Core i3-7100 processor, that PC would not have qualified for a Win 11 upgrade, but was convinced with a registry hack published by a German computer magazine to upgrade anyway ... if that is of any relevance.

Welcome to the forum. These are the only thinks I know to suggest in no particular order.

Some third party software could be interfering in some way. That's easy enough to check by doing a clean boot. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot state, then some software is conflicting with Windows.. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

If in settings>accessibility>keyboard>toggle keys is toggled on. try toggling it off, restart, then turn it on again..

See if it works using another account. Create a new local test user account . Restart then login to the test account. Make sure the setting for keyboard toggle keys is turned on. If it works in this account, it indicates your account is corrupted in some way. (If this proves to be the issue and you have to use another account, report back if you do not know how to do this or the proper way to migrate your data from one account to another..

Hi glasskuter,
thanks for your tips.
Turn off toggle key sound/restart/turn on again did not work.

I will try the other suggestions at the weekend (when I hopefully have more time) and will report back.
