Notification centers says I have a program update

Windows 11 Pro version 25H2 build 26200.7840
I've had some notification center messages saying some of my programs have update, for example yesterday I got Corel VideoStudio X10 has a update. I clicked on it and it just went away. How can I see which programs have updates and how do I update them. I've Googled it and all I get are results about Windows 11 update. Not looking for that, looking for program updates.

Usually programs will have a Check for updates [or something similar] in their Help menu, maybe in Preferences or Options or Tools, etc. Some may even prompt for the update when next opened.

Yes I am aware of that but my question was about the update notification center messages. Why would there be a message and not be a way to accept the update.

Ignore the Windows Notification center. In fact, disable it.
It never has your best interests at heart.

Maybe use your smart phone for that?
All this neat little Win 11 stuff is half baked. Aka, not ready for prime time.

Either that or get a 3rd party app that does those things... properly.

It's not just Win 11. About half way through Windows 7 life cycle... MS decided to just get rid of their Quality Control department... it seems. :/

It's kind of like Windows Updates. They are supposed to fix things. They break more than they fix.

The method that seems to work the best for me, is to strip Windows down to the basics, then use 3rd party apps, for things that are important to you.


Let's look at Windows 7 backup as an example. They ran it in all Windows versions since 2009, never improved or fixed it.
They deprecated it during Windows 10 and during Windows 11, they made a new Windows backup.
Now, they are using popups to remind you to use it.

Me... I'll stick with Macrium Reflect... it just works.
And... if they DO find a minor bug in Macrium, they just... fix it. :D



It seems to me that MS is trying to do... everything.
What they "should" do, is try to make a flawless OS and leave the apps to 3rd parties.
