Solved OneCommander Icon Question

This is just a OCD question and not about a problem. I have had OneCommander installed on my old computer and finally decided to install it on my new computer. On the old computer I have the OneCommander short cut pinned to the taskbar. When I click on it OneCommander starts and only shows the one icon with a line on top. On my new computer I have the shortcut icon pinned to the taskbar just like on the old computer. My OCD problem is that when I click on the short cut OneCommander opens but it shows a another icon with the line on top. So I now have two icons showing. Is there setting I can change or could this be because the old computer is running the Canary build and the new computer is running the latest 25H2 build.

Normally you should get a single icon. I just tested OneCommander (using the portable download) and have only a single icon upon launch whether I pin the exe directly or a shortcut to the exe.

If you pin a shortcut that uses a script or cmd to launch OneCommander, then you would get the two icon issue.

Try pinning the OneCommander.exe directly and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for replying. I tried pinning the .exe directly from the OneDrive folder and it's still opens a new icon. With my other computer I just pinned it to the Taskbar. I'm going to remove OneCommander from the computer using my portable Revo Uninstaller and try again. If that doesn't work I'll move the shortcut over to the left so they won't be side by side when I run OneCommander.

I managed to get OneCommander uninstalled. I decided to give the portable version a try. I pinned the.exe to the taskbar and it did the same thing of opening another Icon. I've been using OneCommander for awhile on my other computer and decided to install it on my main computer. I'm going to move the program to the C:\Programs directory and either pin the .exe to the Start Menu or the Taskbar. If I choose the Taskbar I'll move the shortcut over to the left side to make it harder to notice. I decided to go with the Portable version instead of installing it again.

Success! I copied the OneCommander folder to the Programs folder and when I tried to run it I got a warning about the portable version not being able to run from a Systems folder. I moved it to my user folder and now it works OK.

OK, as in you're just getting a single icon in the taskbar now?

I was going to suggest checking the setting for "Combine taskbar icons" but I guess that doesn't matter now if it's all good.

Yes! I don't know what fixed it though. I uninstalled the program (I had to go to their website to find out to do it). When I first extracted the portable version in my Download folder on drive D: I pinned the shortcut to the Taskbar and when I ran OneCommander I was still getting the second icon. It wasn't until I moved the OneCommander folder to my User folder on drive C: that I was able to pin the shortcut to the Taskbar and run the program without getting the second icon. I don't know how or even if this is what fixed the problem, I just know it working the way it should.

Well, that's interesting. There must be a relatively simple explanation, but it eludes me. Glad to hear it's all good now.
