OneDrive Uploads Duplicate Photos

A few weeks ago, OneDrive started uploading duplicate photos.

If I go to my OneDrive Photos Gallery, I have two of every new photo since this problem started happening. I've been manually deleting one of each duplicate photo.

This problem seemed to start happening around about the time they implemented the new OneDrive Photos Gallery. For what it's worth, this doesn't happen with Google Photos.

Has anyone else found this happening?
By the way. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone. The only album I have set to sync is Camera.

I've hovered over two duplicate photos to reveal the locations of each one.
My Files > Pictures > Samsung Gallery > DCIM > Camera
My Files > Pictures > Camera Roll

The first location (My Files > Pictures > Samsung Gallery > DCIM > Camera) seems to be the one I want uploaded.

I'm only uploading one photo each time I take one with my Pixel 9 Pro XL.
I have the OneDrive app on my phone, and I have it set to upload pictures to the OneDrive Camera Roll folder.
It works as it should, and I've used it this way for several years. I have 1,432 photos in my OneDrive Camera Roll folder with no duplicates.

Hi, Gary.

Mine worked properly for years too, until recently.

I'm going to have to study my phone more closely.
I'm not really into playing with phones like I play with Windows, but I haven't made any changes to my phone in a long time. I don't know what changed. That's what I need to work out.

Since you are seeing a Samsung Gallery > DCIM folder, it sounds like you have your camera tethered to your computer and you are directly loading from your camera as well as loading from the OneDrive app.

You might be onto something, Gary. I haven't changed any OneDrive settings in Windows in a very long time, but I know what a mongrel OneDrive is. Nothing would surprise me about OneDrive.

Samsung Cloud connected to OneDrive uses a separate folder. You can disable Gallery from syncing.
Besides it only uploads the image once, it does not sync it afterwards, once the upload is removed.
