Solved Open Shell question

Can something be done so that the programs that appear when Apps is moused over appear in a folder under Programs?
Can you elaborate, I don't quite get what you're after?

Wow. When I go to that site both Defender and Malwarebytes start screaming STOP. Anyway, regarding your question, AFIK Open Shell can still use the old Windows 7 look if the user sets their Open Shell settings that way.
I used Classic Shell back in the Win8 days and Open Shell says it can make the start menu look like Win7 just as Classic Shell did..

The github site has a newer version than that site mentioned in the first post does.

I thought the OP wanted Apps in a folder! 🤷‍♂️ Beats me, but, I'm sure I've seen it done in OpenShell, as in SAB...

I did some image hacking to show approximately what I want. Note that I made the new folder color different for ease of seeing it.StartMenu.webp

Example with just one Store app shortcut:
Untitled.webp

See 'Store Apps' under 'Programs' containing Print 3D.

a. create new folder on Desktop. E.g. name it Store apps.
b. drag all shortcuts from Apps as shown by Open shell to Store apps.
c. Drag and drop Store apps onto Programs.

However
Any changes you subsequently make to the Store apps on your PC will not be made in Store apps.

I.e. not recommmended.

dalchina - Thank you. I was able to create a folder with the shortcuts and move it under Programs. I figured out how to remove Apps from the start menu - in the Settings for Open Shell.

Normally, an app icon is hard coded and you can't change it in Apps. The restriction disappears when you create a shortcut on the desktop. You can then drop it in your Programs folder and pin it to Open Shell Start or to your taskbar.

Good- with Open Shell you have a lot of freedom - you can place folders with shortcuts to pretty much anything and create your own folders to files or other folders if you wish.
