I've had the phone since the week before Halloween, but I got sick right around then and haven't had much time to play with it.

The watch is supposed to arrive by the 13th.

The case is still back-ordered, though a buddy of mine who ordered a couple of days before me got an email today that his case was shipping.

4-5 days of not getting outta bed. I'm over that, and I'm only at 70% now - but I'm definitely feeling better than I was even just 48 hours ago.

Certainly one of the places the Androids are better than the iPhone restictions. However this IOS USB seems to be going ok. I see 1TB iPhone drives but I don’t think I’d trust them and I have no idea if they hold the only thing i want to store, music. I dare not look because I know what happens next, my wife smashes me over the head with a frying pan, I have to lay off.

Holy friggin incredible read/write speeds!
My music app normally took 3 to 5 minutes to scan the entire music folder, now it's like 20 seconds!

That’s a bonus, especially if you’re swaping and changing albums/folders. Not that you’d really have to with 1TB. The 256GB iXpand samsung IOS drive also reads fast but it’s a quarter of the size, probably in comparison 5 seconds which makes it equal, but again, its small. The software makes the diff I think?

My new phone has great transfer speeds via USB Type-C over a USB 3.2 port, too. Don't have a microSD card slot, but it does have 1 TB built in, so I'm pretty sure I'm good.

Transfer speeds were just shy of double of the last phone, and that was last year's model lol.

Nice you still have a phone that accepts SD cards. Samsung went the way of Apple in that their premium phones - aka my Galaxy S23 Ultra doesn't accept SD cards. Instead, they offer internal storage variants - 256, 512, and supposedly a 1TB model. I went 512gig.

Yesterday (figuratively) this would have bothered me as my Note 20 had an SD card slot; today with cloud storage (in this case OneDrive) and the ability to stream I don't need all those files stored on the phone. For music I just stream from my NAS via Plexamp.

That said, I do think it's B.S. they no longer allow SD cards. But for those of us that use cloud storage, I guess it really doesn't matter. Here you just adapt and keep it moving. And yes, this is a chosen decision, not a "forced" one as I understood the issue going in

Yeah, my S23 also has Type-C port. And yes, transfer speeds are pretty fast as I connect to my Type C port on the front of my case when offloading a bunch of photos taken with the phone for backup and or archiving.

Indeed. While I do have online cloud storage, I still take manual backups of files from my mobiles the same way, via USB Type-C cable connected to my PC.

When I built this rig in 2020, I bought the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless to finally have a decent set of wireless cans. Last year I upgraded to the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for the ANC, and I loved it.

During 2022 (or late 2021), I also backed Heavy's Headphones for Heavy Metal, and I finally got them this year (a bit later than supposed to, but well worth the wait). They have their own website up now and you can get them direct, from HEAVYS - Headphones Engineered for Heavy Metal and let me tell you, these Heavy's blow both of those SteelSeries out of the water. And their website says they are in stock and there is no wait.

You really should have him check that out. Instead of a boom mic, it has 5 (!) mics positioned around the headset.

I have not used my SteelSeries since these arrived - for content creation, for content consumption (metal and other genres of music, YT videos, and more) and even for phone calls. Oh, and let's not forget, for gaming too.
