I have a staples pro that has been a long lasting work horse, however it does have a short run time. I have been using the staples oil on it and has extended the run time somewhat. Thinking of installing a pc fan to cool it, but most likely would make a snow storm in my room> :0(

My Staples shredder does a great job of shredding. I have boxes of papers including boxes of papers from my mom and 5 -10-minute run time isn't going to do it.

If you do manage to install a fan make sure you keep the shredder well oiled. From what I have read the purpose of the oil is not only to keep moving parts lubed but to keep paper dust from building up and jamming the gears.

I bought this vintage electric throw off eBay last night:

This is one of those that never shuts off. I didn't realize that it was a "Smart" electric throw. We'll see how it works. My wife wanted one of those old electric blankets with the simple on/off switch and number dial. You know, the kind that would bake you alive when you set it on High. The new electric blankets are trash. They don't heat and certainly don't last. This is about $30 less than a new electric throw would be and was supposedly never used. We'll see how it works!

I have tested mine w/ a EMF meter (TF2) & it fails on Hi, Med, Low & when just plugged in (Electric & Magnetic Fields), so I use it to preheat my bed about 2 hours (toasty) then switch it off & unplug it before crashing.
I also look primarily at how much much High Radio/Microwaves (mW/cm2) the Microwave oven leaks at various distances.

Maybe I'm just cautious about these things?

I was wearing my wireless Sennheiser's last evening and went to the microwave to warm up a snack and when I turned the MW on, all sound disappeared from the headphones until the timer finished. I was about 4 ft away at the time. :eek:

Not sure if you're being too cautious. I'm not sure the long-term effects of using electric blankets like those. My parents used them for decades and didn't develop any symptoms of, well, anything I know of. My wife wanted one, and that's what she'll get, though. Happy wife, happy life!

Everyday some study comes out claiming this or that is dangerous to humans. Heck just being human is dangerous. Live life

If I'm wearing buds or cans and flick a light switch, I get a pop sound in the device!

I do respect your decision to be cautious. My thoughts are that every day we are being bombarded with electrical, radio and magnetic waves from every direction. If it's going to happen than it's going to happen.

I think it has to do with who is paying for the study and what they have to gain or lose.

My Samsung Galaxy S9 is slowly dying - the screen is turning green with lines across it and it is unusable when this happens, and it is happening more frequently. I was planning on upgrading, but was hoping to wait until the Iphone 14 came out next year. But I can't. Hopefully I will get it next week, As it is I had to compromise on the storage capacity as larger capacity were not available until March. Sigh, spending too much money.

Iphone 13 Pro Max (I got the gold tint, not that it matters).
