I did not post it in the FFS forum as FFS and CCleaner both do not show in the list.

I thought I would run the 2 programs a few times manually and look again. Still not on the list (but the icons showed while running). I thought I would again uninstall EP and see if they then appear on the list. This time EP does not appear on CCleaners uninstall page, EP's start menu group, or Windows installed apps. I guess I will delete EP's program and data folders, reboot and check again.

I'm spending a lot of time chasing a small detail, but I am always learning from the experience.

Sorry, I am not always clear. Which part caused the haemorrhaging?

To my understanding, If you have an app set to not run at startup, but still have a task scheduled to run that app, Task Scheduler will override the startup settings.
But I am curious, does FFS show up in the startup settings in either CCleaner or Windows Settings?

I deleted the ExplorerPatcher folder in Program Files and AppData/Roaming and rebooted. EP still ran on the taskbar as if the folders were still there. I then reinstalled EP and this time it showed in the Installed Apps menu so I could properly uninstall it. FFS and CCleaner still didn't show on the Other System Tray Icons list.

At this point it is not worth anymore effort as it just seems to be an unexplained quirk. @antspants , thanks for your help. At your suggestion, 5 other icons reappeared on the list after uninstalling EP (and remained after reinstalling it). Thanks to others that also chimed in!

No, but the 5 icons that showed on the list after the EP uninstall are all on that Settings, Startup screen (and FFS and CCleaner are not on the Startup Screen).

This is yet another wonderful example of why the Windows 11 taskbar is complete and utter bolox.

1. Select the Windows 10 taskbar style in EP:

2. Check the Always show all:

3. Make the taskbar smaller so that having all the icons always visible doesn't make the notification area too big:

WoW!! The 2nd screen shows CCleaner. FreeFileSync is not on the list, but you did hit on something! Although CCleaner shows on your screen, it still does not show on the taskbar settings screen. Good call!

it was for effect only. I was going to put the W's upside down, but that idea got mowed down.
