Windows 11 23H2
Recently, I believe since Win11 was updated to 24H2, moved emails from the inbox to folders were not appearing in the folders (Outlook 2019). Created new folder, moved "Test" email to a TEST folder. TEST folder showed 1 new message but the folder was empty.

So the Test email is there, but not shown. Opened Change View, "Hide Message" selected (not intentionally by me) in the dropdown. Selected "IMAP Message" and of course the Test message appeared in the TEST folder.

Below is a pre-24H2 folder Change View dropdown. Can anyone explain what may be going on here, why the Change View dropdowns have changed?

Resetting views across the board may help, as can changing views across all the folders (because it isn’t always universal.)

See if any of this helps.

  • Apply View Across All IMAP Folders (If the option is available)
1. Open Outlook and select "IMAP Messages" from the Change View menu.
2. Click "Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders".
3. In the popup, tick all folders where the view misbehaves.
4. Click OK to lock the view across those folders.

  • Create and Set a Custom Default View
1. Go to "Change View" > "Manage Views".
2. Select "IMAP Messages", then click "Copy" to create a customized version.
3. Name it (e.g., "My IMAP View").
4. Adjust settings if needed (columns, sort order, etc.).
5. Save it and re-apply across folders using "Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders".

  • Reset View Settings if Outlook Keeps Misbehaving
1. Close Outlook.
2. Press Win + R to open Run.
3. Type: outlook.exe /cleanviews
4. Press Enter.
Setup IMAP views again and see if it sticks.

I hope one of these suggestions help.

P.S.
I don’t personally believe there’s any connection between the 24H2 updates and Office 2019. It may be related to an Office-specific update instead?

Thank you for suggestions. I was contemplating your custom default view already. I concur probably not related to 24H2, but there were other updates concurrently, so maybe one of them.
