Just loving watching the cycling with riders sliding off at the ist corner -- nobody hurt but a great spectacle.
Opening ceremony was fine -- apart from those endless processions on Boats -- I even thought of a well known UK politician with a popular slogan "Stop the Boats" -- but probably not appropriate to the spirit of the Games. --
Wasn't sure what the "Robot" etc was doing at the ceremony. I still think the UK in the Olympics in London 2012 with the late HMQ QE II jumping out of that plane onto the stadium was far better and I'm sure harder to beat.
Here's for the USA viewers -- US cyclist 3rd crash on the course (not injured though) - so watch "greasy rain soaked streets" in Paris.
A lot of fun -- these games are more open than most -- no automatic monopoly of medals to China and USA as is often the case in these world types of events. Most "Unbiased" viewers want to see close competition -- although of course nationals of any jurisdiction want their athletes to win as many medals as possible.
