Yeah, if you go to the forgot password link from lastpass, you will get the option to have them send you a HINT.....this hint is whatever you provided to them when you setup the account. They cannot provide you with the the password.

I don't use LastPass. I was just showing that it is possible to receive a temporary password. Read the page I linked too.

I would highly recommend a Yubikey for 2FA on any accounts it can secure. You can even use Yubikey to secure the Windows login.

I've maintained my own password lists through apps for the better part of 2 decades now.

I started out using Moon Software's Password Agent, but after he pulled (what then felt like) a sneaky grab to get more money by releasing a new version and asking for a new registration payment, I switched to KeePass 2.xx, FOSS.

In the last coupe of years, I swapped from KeePass to KeePassXC (and from KeePass2Android to KeePassDX on my Android devices, unrelated to XC) as it is just as actively maintained as KeePass but with a more modern interface and certain features I make extensive use of built in natively versus relying on a plugin with KeePass.

Additionally, any site that allows for MFA I enable it - and sites that allow for using a physical key, I register both sets of my Google Titan Security keys. I'm (anxiously!) awaiting delivery of my pair of Solo V2s so I can move away from the Titans, as they support only FIDO original not FIDO2, and thus some sites (and Windows) will not let me use Titan for security / MFA purposes.

And, since I use KeepassXC / DX on all my devices, now, I never have my browsers save login credentials anymore (for sites that are related to work / personal info / finances / etc.) And I'm using separate profiles in Firefox to access them to isolate them as much as possible.

With all the modern technology out now, you would think someone would have come out with some sort a fingerprint/thumbprint usb attachment, I use the thumbprint option to unlock my iPhone.
