How do I password Protect a thumb drive in Windows 11 Home Version. Everything I read refers to Bit Locker, which is not included in the HOME version of Windows 11. I have Veracrypt installed on my computer but I can't figure how to use it without Bit Locker.

Try: -
  1. Insert thumb drive.
  2. In File Explorer right-click on the thumb drive and select 'Properties' from the context menu.
  3. Select the 'Sharing' tab.
  4. Click on 'Password protection'.
  5. Follow the prompts from that point.
Oops! I assumed that would work but following the Sharing link didn't offer any way to add a PW.
Sorry.

Verycrypt doesn't need Bit Locker. You encrypt the drive from within Veracrypt. I'm not on my computer so I can't walk you through it until later.

Veracrypt is a great option especially if you do not run Pro or Ent editions of Windows. 7Zip is also a good option if you just want to store an encrypted archive.
