Many of my passwords, not all do not show the password, I have tried Dashlane, Roboform, should I delete Google password manager? Will it make a difference, or just use it instead of the password managers I use?

I'm not keen on Google Password Manager or any of the ones in web browsers like Edge, for my needs they don't have the features of the best paid password managers.

I use, am very pleased with and recommend RoboForm Everywhere. I don't understand the OP's issue.

I'm not sure you are using a password manager correctly because Roboform works great here. If using a password manager, you should install your password manager's browser extension into each of your browsers and disable letting browsers themselves handle your passwords.

Bitwarden has a self hosted option and has better opsec practices, better implementation and is open source so anyone can review their code for security. LastPass has suffered a few significant breaches as well as the fact that they didn't encrypt the entire vault entries leaving the notes unencrypted. This causes data leaks from they're breaches. BitWarden did have a breach via phishing, but vault data was not compromised as well as the fact that they use zero-knowledge encryption and encrypt everything in the your vault.

Any option you choose will carry risk, even running a local-only vault. You still need to update that software and it's a fairly popular attack path to compromise a 3rd party including their update mechanism. Solarwinds is a well known case for this.


All that aside using a password manager with unique passwords is still a much better option than not. You just choose which risks you are willing to accept when selecting a tool.

1. Do not store core passwords in the cloud!
2. Do not store passwords in a browser password manager!
3. Do not rely on a single 2FA/password manager, always make a backup!

Not sure what you mean by "better implementation", but in any event, Keepass is also open source.
