Hi.

I have just located PC Manager on my laptop.

Could anyone advise, is it safe to run the Deep Cleanup area, and just allow anything found to be removed ?. My system runs fine but obviously PC Manager must have been written to assist in enabling a faster performance system.

PC Manager is Microsoft's attempt at a CCleaner type program. It's a Beta version at the moment.

YOU have to decide whether or not you want to be a guinea pig for "testing" PC Manager.
It may be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
It may also have unintended side effects.

I've been using PC Manager for about a month now and do the Health check daily and haven't had any issues. I ran the deep scan and don't really see anything there alarming. I had less than 1 GB that needed cleaning. After allowing to clean, I still have no issues.

Well, I can give you a personal, and professional Review.
I downloaded and installed the PC Manager, and ran it. If you like Geeky programs, it's a fun way to kill an hour, or less, if you're a quick study.

It's several pages of options, to click here and click there, and watch the blinkin' lights and listen to the whirring machinery. ONLY JOKING of course. It's completely silent. But my time could have been better spent winning at Solitaire. My PC would be just as well off, and I would have a much greater sense of accomplishment.

Speaking of Accomplishment, I spent several hours writing a Cleanup.bat program that takes only a few seconds to run, with NO User Intervention, and removes thousands of junk files from the computer. And gives me a little report at the end. Here's the report I got on Cinco de Mayo:

No system files or registry entries were harmed in any way by this program. Only the purest JUNK was removed.
If I want to clean up Windows' own junk, I just run "Disk Cleanup" in extended mode.

I've removed the PC Manager program from my PC.
