Did the PC health check, it said my PC meets the requirements for W11:

However when I try to install it tells me 'This PC can't run Windows 11' What's going on? Can I get it to work or do I need to go the Rufus method?

And it is possible to use the Media Creation Tool process to download what is needed to install Win11. I use both choices to keep on hand, the bootable .iso file used to create a DVD and the bootable 8GB USB Thumb drive.

I am doing a clean install via USB
The USB created by the Media Creation Tool can boot in both UEFI and Legacy mode. For a Windows 10 USB whichever mode you booted the USB, that was the mode it would install Windows, UEFI/GPT or Legacy/MBR

For Windows 11 the only permissible install mode is UEFI. If you use the one-time boot choice menu at start up the USB may be listed twice, once as UEFI and again as Legacy boot. If so it is vital to choose the UEFI boot option.
