Hi everyone,

I really need some help with a persistent stability problem on my laptop. I have been trying to diagnose and fix this issue for a long time, but I still cannot determine what is actually causing it.

My laptop is:

  • GIGABYTE AORUS 16X ASG
  • Intel Core i9-14900HX
  • RTX 4070
  • 32GB RAM
  • Windows 11
  • BIOS FF2 (2026-01-29)

The problem started with frequent Access Violation (0xc0000005) errors and crashes in different applications and games. Dota 2 and World of Warcraft are two examples.

Sometimes the game simply crashes to desktop. Other times, the entire system freezes, the audio becomes robotic, and Windows eventually crashes with a BSOD.

One of my recent dumps showed:

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B)
Exception code: 0xC0000005 (Access Violation)

The crash occurred inside the Windows kernel scheduler, and the dump did not point directly to a specific third-party driver.

I have already updated the BIOS and tried different driver versions, but the problem has continued. Unfortunately, it has now become worse. The laptop can sometimes BSOD even when it is simply turned on and I am not doing anything demanding. At this point, the system is becoming practically unusable.

I am especially concerned about a possible hardware-level problem involving the CPU, memory controller, motherboard/VRM, or possible CPU degradation. I know about the Intel 13th/14th-generation instability issues, although I also understand that Intel has officially said the confirmed Vmin Shift issue does not apply to mobile HX processors. I am therefore not assuming that this is definitely the same issue.

The main reason I am posting here is that I genuinely need help figuring this out.

Unfortunately, I currently don't have access to proper customer service or a reliable repair service where I am located, so I don't have an easy way to simply take the laptop somewhere and have a technician diagnose it for me.

Because of this, I have very little choice but to try to diagnose and fix the problem myself. I am willing to run tests, collect logs, analyze dumps, test hardware, or follow whatever troubleshooting steps you recommend. I just need someone experienced to guide me through the process and help me understand what the results actually mean.

I have several BSOD dump files available and can upload them.

If anyone here has experience with WinDbg, BSOD analysis, hardware instability, or Intel CPU/platform problems, I would really appreciate your help. Please help me work through this step by step and figure out what is actually failing.

I don't know whether this is a software/driver problem or a hardware problem anymore, and I really need some guidance to get to the root cause.
