Open task manager by right clicking on the start button and selecting task manager from the list. Click on the 'startup' tab at the top.
If Photoshop is in the list, over to the right , right click on 'enabled' and change it to disabled. If that doesn't do it for you, a screenshot of exactly what you are seeing would be helpful.

Also look in Apps > Default apps > Choose Defaults by file type. If I'm not mistaken, Photoshop is trying to open a file type it doesn't recognize.

Sorry but a bit more info is needed - what version of Photoshop? Is there a file that Photoshop is actually trying to open? Which File?

Additionally, no one is picking up on the very weird issue of Photoshop automatically opening when Windows boots....
When I boot windows 11, Adobe Photoshop opens and displays "not the right file type." How can I get rid of this? Any ideas will b appreciated.

As a Photoshop user of some years (including the subscription-based version)... That's new :eek1:

Also, what file types does the OP have associated with Photoshop? Perhaps there's a possibility Photoshop got associated with a file that comes up when Windows boots, but that just guesswork, and given the lack of info.

Good luck.
