Poll on Backup software

I have. I used Macrium to transfer an image from a Legacy/MBR machine to a UEFI/GPT one. That's how my System One below got its Windows 10 OS ready to get the Windows 11 upgrade through Windows Update.

Your words - it is just not obvious it is a joke - I had no idea what xD meant.

For the sake of peace, let's consider that subject closed, and we accept you were joking.

As an aside, it is 100% up to you if you choose not to make image backups.
Equally, it is 100% up to any person to choose which tools to use

In the end, the most critical thing is to follow the 1st 2 Golden Rules of Computing:

1) Always backup critical data

2) If there is any doubt, refer back to Rule 1.

These two rules apply to everybody, but educating people of that is the big problem.

At least threads like this go some way to educating people of importance of backups.

Ah my bad...i thought it couldn't have been any clearer that it was a joke by the sheer ridiculousness of the joke, like what... xD is a pretty basic text emoji thats been about since before they animated them, Thought it was insanely clear as it even looks like eyes and a mouth but hey ho! Il not make any further jokes incase people get offended or completely miss the joke even if it's slapping em in the face.

Looking at the poll results so far. The ever popular macrium is clearly the most popular (73% ish), followed by Aomei (14%) and "other" (13%) about equally. Then EaseUS todo 5.4%. And various other alternatives due to user choice and knowldge. I find it helpful to know that Aomei is quite popular - already knew Macrium was popular. Also interesting that there are so many options - depending on user circumstances. :)

I have been aware of Aomei for some time, but never really considered it. I've downloaded it, backed up with it, etc., and it's pretty easy to use. To the extent that I will teach my students to use it. However, looks like it's going to be awhile, since I was overruled about teaching them to use Aomei before Macrium.

I'm not sure how much it nags, but it does nag.

We all are free to enjoy our preferences in life, macrium is probably great, but I like and use what is simplest for me, this is why I have used Acronis since 2009. I like Fords, many of my friends love them, and they are probably more popular in Texas, but I like GMC's been driving them since 1965, message here is, just use what you like best, polls mean nothing to me, especially when you have a very small amount of folks here your polling, and from what I have heard, there is over 3.5 billion folks on earth just on the internet. JMO.
