Silly question. I brought up PowerShell on my PC and it's already at version 7.6.6 but I haven't manually updated it lately and looking at Windows Update history the last two updates were a security and .NET Framework security updates, both yesterday (9/9/2026). These are the only updates in September. It's not a big deal but any idea why PS is already showing version 7.6.6 if it was released very recently?

I updated to Powershell 7.6.6 via Winget the other day.
Windows Update downloaded and installed Powershell 7.6.6 with the out of band patch.
Not sure why this happened.
