Solved Prevent Windows 11 Home from Signing Into Online Account

Yes, by luck. No official steps to follow.
Did a system restore to the day before and it didn't log into the online account. Kept it local. Not sure why.

I think it must've been Office365. I logged on with my work email so I can access Word, Powerpoint and other apps for free.
In Outlook I used my work email and personal emails.
Then somehow Windows was linking the local account to my personal email to log onto an online account. All options in User Settings were greyed out.

I had tried out some Registry and Group Policy changes prior to asking for help here. Because I'm so smart I didn't keep track of the changes I made.
One of those may have caused it.

Also the "remove account" option in that tutorial was available for 4 of the email addresses. But not available for the one that was being used as the Windows login email.

Next time (lol) you may be able to use this to get yourself out of policy edits.

I nearly posted it this morning but I wasn’t sure.

I've used system restore to bail me many times. There's about a 50/50 chance it will do the job but then more often than not you're right back to where the problem first began. Yes, MS is sneaky. I'm with you there. They try to find creative ways to force you to make a user account to log into your OS. This is done for security reasons as they want to secure the prospect of getting more money from you. It's nothing personal. It's just business. Fortunately there are still creative ways of dodging the MS user account thing but that gap is shrinking fast.
