Thanks for that tip.
I am trying to find the same printer or another one that uses the same TN-660 cartridges. The wife bought a 5-pack of those 3 weeks ago.

Guys, false alarm. I had to "dig" out the power plug behind an office shelf, try another outlet and it came back to life.
Basically back at square 1. I'll go back to Mister Ed's post #56 and start from there.
Hopefully, I can get it going sooner or later. Y'all's help is greatly appreciated.
Ed

with my Brother printer MFC-L3710CW to get it to print from my Windows systems
i had to reserve the printer address within the router, this printer is connected by WiFi
but the same can be done if connected by ethernet cable.

then set the printer connection on the systems to static addressing, using the reserved printer address from the router.
so when setting the printer up select manual setup, then detect by IP address
then enter the reserved printer IP address from the router and Windows will then search for the printer to install drivers.

thus far everything is still printing via WiFi on Windows 11 25H2.
best of luck Steve ..

OK, guys, another attempt to get this darn printer going.
1. The router lists the printer, I can ping the printer with the IP address the router displays. That means that the PC recognizes the printer, right?
2. I downloaded the printer driver from the Brother support site and started to install. The install does NOT find the printer even when I enter the correct printer IP. How is that possible?

Addendum: Tried the install again, this time it found the printer and install went through. I updated the firmware for good measure and the test page printed. Hopefully it stays that way.

Again, thanks a lot for your patience with me, I'm really gratefule for all your input.
