Problem migrating the system drive from my source NVMe to a new target NVMe: “The external backing provider is not recognized.”

click + sign next to Components

then click Problem Devices to highlight it as you can see in the screenshot I provided

then click File > Export

and call it something like probdevs.txt ( use .txt extension so can open it easily in notepad ) or any name that makes sesne to you for the text file and export it the desktop so you can find it easily.

Thanks a LOT for the links and images! Mine is not the Pro 5600H. It's the Pro 5700U. I saw your subsequent post suggesting that the same drivers probably apply to all SER5 systems. Thanks for following up. I'll have to find out for sure before I jump. Now I'm absolutey GUN SHY(!) to add anything to the mix that might currupt the newly installed system. It's taken me TWO WEEKS to get this far.

Hi,
Yeah wild thread I skipped a few pages lol

Either way some machines you'd have to disable any type of encryption first before cloning or system imaging.
Plus turn off secure boot seeing you're swapping os disks.

Which ever app you use make sure after downloading it right click it's .exe installer or zip folder and go to properties and check the Unblock box and save.
Then right click the installer or .exe if portable and run as administrator so no permissions issues arise using the app in the OS.
Once it's done cloning.. power off, and swap drives.

Best to use offline or bootable flash drive for this stuff to it keeps os interference out of the picture and down to bios issues.

Done. I used the information to enable the Bluetooth Device (1st item) and the Ethernet controller (3rd item), but was not able to find a driver for the Multimedia Controller. I did however turn up a page telling me there were a bunch of Windows Updates stacked up and waiting. I just hit the "Install ALL" button. The downloads/installs are underway now...

problem devices - 3 issues.png

I don't use Bluetooth, and my network/internet processes are via WiFi. So I don't see those two to "problem" Devices. In fact, I read somewhere a while back that Beelink minis are prone to issues regarding both those components. So can I just disable both?

@BothHands, Close to the bottom of this page is the link to the drivers I think is your computer. Make sure it is the correct computer first though. https://www.bee-link.com/cms/support/productlist?id=7
Thanks a lot! It's like my brain has just checked out. Too much information. The link below does appear to include my SER5 5700U.
dis-is-me.png
Clicking on that image link takes me to THIS CRAZY PAGE. I downloaded the Driver Installation Tutorial .PDF instructions and the 517MB Driver.zip file. Man! Don't they have any web designers in China...?! =D

I'm getting lost in all the comments coming in. I appreciate every one of them, but some are way over my head. I'm going to read the Beelink Drivers Installation Tutorial file and see if I can follow it. I will post a generic report after I do that. I appreciate all the help from all you guys, but I'm overwhelmed at the moment.

I much appreciate your efforts, but you're operating at a level way above what I can comprehend. I just downloaded the Drivers.zip file from Beelink, and will trying installing what's needed. IF I understand the information you and I exchanged a few posts ago, the only missing driver in my system is for the Media Controller. Let me try following the Driver Install tutorial from Beelink and see if that works. I'll post a generic/broadbased report after that. Thanks, @SIW2.

I'm sure you know exactly what you're talking about, but I have no idea how to do any of what you just wrote. I appreciate it, but you're a mile over my head.

People use DiskGenius, Macrium, EaseUS or whatever to clone drives all the time. I'm sure 99.7% of them don't do any of that because they/we/I have no idea what any of it means. So I'm hoping none of what you're describing is necessary for me to simply clone the effin' drive.

Thank you for making this file available via your One Drive. I got rid of One Drive on the system in question, so was surprised to be able to download from your One Drive account. I extracted the contents and pointed the Device Mgr "Update driver" at that folder. It did update something involving Audio, and I thought it was done, but no. The Media Controller is still without a driver, still a "problem device" according to System Info (but now the only one).
there are sevral custom inf files in the unknown folder

you can try the device manager browse method to install them
Thank you for these GREAT efforts to assist me. I wish I could report success.
Per @Winuser's helpful info and links, I was able to download the (supposedly) complete driver pack and installation instructions for my computer. I extracted them all, then pointed the DeviceMgr "Update driver" at the folder. NOTHING! Windows could not update the driver. See image below.

Multimedia Controller, NOGO.png

Then I Googled up THIS Beelink "Support" Thread, where the user asks for the same driver I'm missing. The "support" rep has the user download the wrong driver, so the user comes back for the correct driver. I followed the "correct driver" link, which turned out to be the same 517MB zip file I downloaded a couple of hours ago. Same result. NO RESULT. Beelink SUX!

When we do fight the Chinese in WWIII, I hope they're this stupid and inept.

Unzip the file to a separate folder. Start Device Manager and for every device that needs a driver just choose to update the driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Search for drivers in this location and select the folder were you unzipped the drivers.

Windows is not updating because it doesn't have the driver in it's database. You have to point the driver update to the folder with the extracted drivers.

I've been doing exactly as you describe in these two posts. Unless my brain has entirely turned to oatmeal (and it probably has), I'm doing it right and the necessary driver is just not present in the 3 .zip downloads I have on my Desktop. I've been through some real nasty, lengthy problems related to computers, but I've never seen anything so effed up as this.

In my reply to @SIW2 above, I failed to realize that the zip file of extracted drivers he sent apparently DID resolve the missing driver for the Multimedia Controller (which no longer appears in Device Mgr...), but now there's a missing driver for the Audio Controller, and I've pointed Device Mgr Update at all three of the drive downloads folders (all are extracted). In each case it says Windows is not able to update the driver.

Thanks a lot! It's like my brain has just checked out. Too much information. The link below does appear to include my SER5 5700U.

That gives a 403 forbidden

there is a drivers link lower down the page, which I presume is the 517mb zip the OP downloaded.

The realtek drivers I just uploaded should work, they are from the official installation image for that machine

SER5-Sound.zip

Dont know if he needs the vc redists which are also in the official beelink image.

Direct from realtek when searched for realtek 6.0.9167.1
