Problem with NVidia Driver 576.52

I'm more confident from the OEM manufacturer or Windows Update. Last time I got it from Windows Update (572.62). Old but stable version, not much drama

nVidia drivers from Windows Update are older versions and sometimes the core components only are installed. To make sure I have the latest version with all the components (including nVidia Contol Panel), I always download directly from nVidia. I don't even trust my card manufacturer Gainward support site. I go directly to nVidia. As I understand some recent Game Ready drivers have bugs, at least for some cards. I lately install the Studio version since I don't play demanding games but I do a lot of video processing using Cuda. I never had any issues with the Studio driver.

exactly, this is what I like. Because not all users like other features that actually make the system heavier

As I always say, I would rather have something more I don't need, than missing something I need. That means, it's better to have all features and disable the ones you don't use, than missing something you want to use. For example, older Windows drivers would install only the graphics driver, not the HDMI audio driver, neither the nVidia Control Panel. Let's say you don't care about the HDMI audio driver because you don't connect your PC to a TV or because another update might take care of it. But without the nVidia Control Panel you cannot tweak performance (useful for games) or enable any custom resolutions (useful to enable 3840x2160 for your smart TV if it's not already in the list or enable 4096x2160 native for some 4K TVs). So I would install all features and disable or ignore the ones I don't want. They will be always available should I ever need them. And if you have a computer with SSE4.2 support, then it is at least some generation of Core-i3 or equivalent AMD with at least 4GB RAM. There is no way to become perceivably "heavier" with installing a couple more features. We are not talking about an old Core 2 Duo with 2GB or less.exactly, this is what I like. That's OK if you don't mind sticking with old drivers. I have an ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (2022) laptop with an Nvidia RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. The newest Nvidia driver that ASUS has was released in June 2022. The Nvidia App lets me know when there is a driver update. Currently I am running 576.02. The Nvidia App recommends that I update to 576.52 which I haven't done yet.not everyone reads this

Just keep a copy of your current driver, so if you have any issues with the newer one, use DDU to remove it and reinstall the older driver. Problems with new nVidia drivers are known from Windows 98 era. Once I was happy to install the newer nVidia driver to improve performance, but I found out it had a lot of bugs and the performance wasn't improved. I simply uninstalled it and installed my old driver back. Newer is not always better. Sometimes it makes no difference, but I install it anyway to feel better since I have the latest version, sometimes it is worse (rarely thanks God). I always keep a copy of at least two versions of older drivers, in my C:\DRIVERS folder just in case. Not only for graphics, but for all hardware of my PC. Today I might download a driver in a few minutes, but some years ago I needed more than half an hour, so keeping a copy of the drivers is a smart move, plus I can install them to another computer any time without having to download them again.

Nope, I'm not a gamer but the latest NVIDIA Studio drivers totally borked up my PC's modern standby S0 sleep mode. Screen wouldn't wake up and PC would then BSOD. I had to go back to the Dell factory NVIDIA drivers currently 572.97. No issues since sticking with those.
