Problem with wireless mirroring/casting to TV

Hi I have a new Dell Inspiron 14 5425 with Windows 11 Home version, 16 gigs memory. I have trouble mirroring and when it does mirror to the TV it lags or freezes and on top of that it does not scale to fit the Roku TV screen. I have tried all kinds of possibilities but to no avail can I get it to work properly. I even contacted Dell and that was a nightmare they never read what I wrote and we were going around in circles. Here is what I have tried thus far. I tried installing up to date drivers for the video cards and audio cards drivers. I have even uninstalled them and installed them again. I went into display and tried to fix the monitor by playing with project duplicates and even messed around with the resolution to try and get it to fit the TV screen. I tried scaling the displays and nothing worked. I tested an HDMI cord and that worked just fine. I have been trying to find answers online and it is all a repeat of the same things I did. I even did a system restore to see if it would fix the problem. I sure could use an answer here. I am about ready to return the Laptop.

Good job on filling in your stats and giving us a basic rundown on what's happening - but it would also help to describe the TV and version of Roku stick you're using. And are you using the basic built in Windows 11 mirroring feature, as well as your intenral network speeds, router model, and if your TV has a decvent line of sight to the router, or is wired directly to it.

I would also update the Wireless adapter drivers. This must be the culprit. Poor signal quality makes the image stutter.

I'm trying to be sure about the problem so I can be sure about the answer to give. Wireless driver could be the issue - so could router, line of sight to the TV, interference from an overzealous AV scanner on the laptop (which is likely because it is a new laptop and Dell likes to include a lot of 'free / trial' stuff on their machines), or any of a number of other things as well. It's why I asked the questions first.

So, please detail your connection stuff, and let us know what the driver version is for your WiFi in Windows 11.

I suggested to update the WiFi drivers to make sure there is no software issue, so we can focus on other possible sources. Also, how was the graphics driver updated? If it was via Windows Update, I would visit manufacturer's site (Intel/nVidia/AMD whatever) to make sure I have the latest official drivers. Some times the make a huge difference in performance and compatibility.

Residential Fiber 100Mbps/25Mbps. I am using the mirroring that is build into Dell yes. My router is give by the company I am with which is a local company in my area and it is called Smart/RG My lenovo streams great no problem so I know it is the Laptop. I have tried to update drivers but when I run AMD it says everything is up to date. When I run the Dell update driver it says there is an error. Crazy! So not sure what to do because the drivers in here are from Jan 2021​

Now, as spapakons said - you're running utilities for updating these drivers. Don't.

Click on Enter Service Tag, and enter it from the back (bottom) of your laptop.

Then click on Drivers and Downloads, the expand the area that says Manually find a specific driver for your Inspiron 14 54242

Under download type, check only Driver, and under Category click only on Network, Ethernet, and Wireless.

Now take a screen shot and show us what you see (only of the Manually find section, not the entire page - we don't want your private service tag being public knowledge.

From this screenshot we should be able to verify if your installed driver is the same one as they have available from their website.

SO, just to verify, have you gone through the setup again on your TV(s) to set up the Dell?

I have already done all the above with Dell and to no avail that is why I am here. I updated my drivers I have tried to reconnect and so forth and so on. Please reread the original post.

As I said I was verifying as that is what the instructions for connecting to a TV at Dell's website state. Nowhere in your OP did you say that you had gone through the setup on the TV again.

Since their CS also did not help, you might check their customer forums, sometimes a user may post what they did to get a situation working. But you're right about one thing - the Lenovo works, therefore the TV works, therefore it is something on the Dell not working correctly. The customer forums may lead to help, but unless someone else here has a similarly configured Dell and has a special procedure they underwent to get it working with their TVs, answers will be limited, as you've already done what 90% of the suggestions would entail.
