Nah, modern UEFI-based systems have an actual GUI where you can use a mouse, but your screenshots in previous posts show me that your UEFI is not graphical, and follows the older BIOS layout with limited interaction. I suspect your particular motherboard's interface has nothing like what I was describing at all.

At any rate, though, yeah, if it is under warranty, get the company to fix it. And, if this is the third time, I'd honestly get a refund and get something else - or something from somewhere else.

The final update on this one; I sent the machine back for the 3rd time with instructions to not ship back to me until I received commnication from technician on what was wrong and to verify they were able to get eh machine to boot up on its own. A week later I get a note that they were unable to fix the machine and will process my refund. I think it must have been a hardware problem... I just ordered a similarly equipped HP. Hopefully my luck with HPs holds up.

Glad you got it sorted.
You should never try and repair a computer that is under warranty. This could void the warranty. If you send a computer back a second time and it's still not working, demand a refund and get something else.

Zbook, I did download and install HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI, but I don't see it show up in my apps list. Is it something only avaiable when you are in BIOS?

The HP UEFI hardware diagnostics (testing without Windows or other OS):

Power on the computer and repetitively click F2 or F10 > system > extensive


If you prefer to test while using Windows:



The UEFI and Windows tests have many similarities.

The interactive tests, thoroughness, etc. are different.

The UEFI testing has loop until error and can run overnight while sleeping.
