Solved Realtek-Gigabyte-LAN driver problem solved - Update

I've had a few problems with my LAN adapter (Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller) not loading and not being present in device manager. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Aorus Elite B650 AX Ice and until recently ran perfectly. It started booting and not showing the ethernet LAN adapter in Device Manager and the adapter was not functioning. To cut a long story short I had to disable secure boot for the adapter to be recognised on startup. If there is somebody else with this problem it might be the workaround. I rather hope Gigabyte will sort out the conflict but it's not the latest motherboard so who knows?

Edit for once it doesn't, at face value, seem to be a windows problem.

Is the Lan Driver up to date and if so did you get the Driver from Gigabyte or Realtek?
Gigabyte version 11.26.50.2025 Sept 19, 2025 and Realtek 11.027.50 Nov 11 2025

I'm running on the latest Realtek driver at the moment but I have tried the latest Gigabyte one and it didn't seem to solve the problem

Turns out my onboard LAN card was failing, now completely dead. PCIE card now ordered. :(

The same "song". And what's interesting: it was gradually failing. At first, from time to time, I couldn't install from scratch. All the time the message was displayed that there was no Internet connection. In the Device Manager, after installing via Wi-Fi, it appeared and then disappeared completely. I solved the problem only by installing the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller network card in the PCI slot. So far, it works without problems. The MSI MAG X570S Tomahawk Wi-Fi motherboard.

That's encouraging I'm hoping the card will sort things out for me too. I'll be keeping an eye on replacement motherboard prices just in case.

What's the point? The new network adapter is cheaper than the motherboard.

Usually when things die on a motherboard it starts happening in other areas as well. I personally would not trust any motherboard for anything with a failing component.

And I have MAG X570S Tomahawk Wi-Fi. So I'm more inclined that it's not the motherboard, but the network adapter. Note that the same one is the Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller. It's probably him, but maybe you're right.
